Configuring your PlayStation 3 for ResNet

These instructions are for configuring a Sony PlayStation 3 for use with ResNet.

Plug the network (category 5) cable into the ethernet port and into the back of the PlayStation.

    On the PS3:
  1. Go to "Settings".
  2. Scroll down to "Network Settings".
  3. Scroll down to "Settings and Connections Status List"
  4. Scroll down until you see MAC address, then write it down.

      Once you have the MAC address, plug the network cable into a computer that has already been registered on ResNet via wired connection (ethernet)..

      1. Navigate to https://hostreg.resnet.cwu.edu (The site may come up as untrusted. Go ahead and add and confirm the security exception.)
      2. Enter your CWU Safari/Wildcat Connection user name and password.
      3. There will be a field asking for an 'Ethernet Address'. Enter the MAC address from above into this box
      4. From the 'Operating system' pulldown menu select "PlayStation 3".
      5. Click "Agree and Submit".
      6. Once you have done this, wait 15 minutes.
      7. Plug the network cable into the PlayStation, then restart the console. The PlayStation should be able to access the internet.
